44mm valve for 28mm carbon, Altamont, Altamont, CCC, Trailblazer and MTB wheels
60mm valve for 44mm carbon and 36mm depths (36 Road Disc, Pinnacle, and Jocassee)
80mm valve for 55 Road Disc and 60mm carbon
110mm valve for 90mm carbon and 90 Road Disc
Put more rubber in contact with your rim bed. This gives a more air tight seal, allows more sealant to seal the base, and prevents the valve from spinning when you are tightening the nut. When you are trying to prevent air from leaking, having more contact is a huge advantage.
As you can see from the picture below, the rubber actually goes down the shaft of the valve. This means the rubber is pressing through the valve hole and tape, instead of bare metal. Again, this helps to create a more air tight seal. . .preventing leaks and making set up much easier.
The square bottom on the rubber, plus the rubber extending down the valve helps create the best air tight sealing system. Set up is a breeze and works much better than other valves on the market.
It started off as the simplest of ideas. I was out mountain biking with some friends and on the last run of the day (as we were running out of daylight). One of my friends got a flat tire and we couldn't get it to seal again (the tubeless sealant had boogered up). So, we were going to throw a tube in and ride back to the car. Problem is the nut on the tubeless valve was on so tight than none of us could remove it! I finally was able to take two rocks and loosen the nut enough and said "Somebody needs to make this nut a wingnut!"
That was the "a-ha!" moment. We drew up the wingnut, had prototypes made, and brought them to Interbike with us. . . almost as a fun little side idea. Well, every cycling publication wrote about the wingnut and BikeRadar even mentioned it as one of their favorite things at Interbike. We quickly filed patent work, and produced a bunch of them.
Every set of Boyd Cycling Tubeless Valves will come with a pair of the wingnuts. It makes it very easy to tighten the nut down by hand. More importantly, if you are riding and need to loosen the nut, you can do that by hand as well.
As much as we don't like to admit we all fret over every gram. . .we do. We don't want heavy valves throwing off the balance of the wheels. These valves are a light weight aluminum that helps keep the weight down when your wheel is spinning. Weights for the valve (with nut for tightening) is: 44mm - 5 grams 55mm - 5 grams 60mm - 6 grams 80mm - 6 grams 110mm - 8 grams

All Boyd wheels have the BOYD logo baked into the rim and under the clearcoat finish. You can apply vinyl decals over the top of the logos in ten different color options. The logos are cut to fit our current generation of carbon and alloy rims.
The current generation of rims can be identified by the following features:
Carbon wheels with rim brakes have a 3k weave (criss cross pattern) on the brake track only. The side of the rim is painted black.
Carbon clinchers have a tubeless rim bed.
Carbon disc brake wheels have no brake track, and a tubeless rim bed for the clinchers. The logos are at the edge of the rim.
Alloy wheels have a welded seam. If you can not see a seam opposite of the valve, then you have a welded seam.
Alloy wheels also have a tubeless rim bed in both rim brake and disc brake.
Alloy wheels will have the model name (ex: Altamont) once and the "BOYD" logo three times
The disc brake and rim brake versions of the wheels use the same decal. Decals are sold in a set of 12 decals.
The decals ONLY cover the "BOYD" logo, not the other design elements of the rim.
We recommend rubbing alcohol to remove decals you may of previously applied.
These disc brake shims install between the rotor and centerlock disc brake hub allowing you to fine-tune the alignment of the braking surface. Shims are commonly used when swapping between different brands of wheelsets, so that you don't have to re-align the caliper on the frame. We recommend a maximum of four per hub. They are .25mm thick, four per order. Pre-cut for easy installation.

In order to ensure the pawls and driver rings are maintained to our strict performance standards, we have teamed up with the high tech industrial lubricant experts at the NixFrixShun (NFS) Speed Shop to develop the perfect grease. Mainly known for chain lube (pretty much the best chain lube you can buy), NFS helped to develop a pawl grease to match the quality of the hub.

Grease is sold in a 1oz. tube with an applicator tip designed for easy maintenance. Simply clean your pawls and then add the grease to either the pawls or the engagement teeth. The grease will spread through all the teeth through normal riding. A 1oz. tube should be good for 8-10 applications, and with the longevity of the Speed Coat grease this should pretty much be a lifetime supply.

The Onyx Brake pad by Boyd Cycling is our newest and most advanced brake pad yet. It is good to use for any of our carbon wheels, clincher or tubular, and any model year.
The most important feature of this new brake pad is heat dissipation. We made a focus on a brake pad that will not develop high heat in prolonged braking circumstances. In our torture test that consists of continuous braking at 17KgF for minutes on end the highest temperature reached was 104 degrees Celsius. With the same testing lab, we tested the brakes at 17KgF braking power for 4 seconds on, 4 seconds off for an hour. The temperature would rise and fall, but the highest temperature reached was only 68 degrees Celsius.
These new brake pads also have great modulation and also brake feel. We tested these on the road for months before final production letting multiple riders try the brake pads and give their impressions. Braking is predictable, there is no pulsation, and the absolute stopping power is there when you need it. The final test before product release came in a criterium where Boyd was in a two person break. The breakaway companion took the final corner of the race a little too fast and slid out right in front of Boyd. He was able to slam on the brakes and go from 28mph to a complete stop in about 10 meters (albeit balancing on the front wheel doing an endo). This was the final proof that the brake pads have that ability to really stop when needed. Now you can have carbon wheels without sacrificing the braking power of an alloy wheel.
Longevity is very good on these pads. Like all wheels and wheel accessories, Altamont road going up and down Paris Mountain in Greenville, SC is used for testing. We have found that with going up and down Paris Mountain multiple times almost every day the front pads will last a few months whereas the rear pads will likely last at least half a year or more. Not too bad for a set of four brake pads that only cost $20.
One set come with four brake pads, enough to outfit your entire bike with new pads. Both Shimano and Campy style are available. Please note that on the first ride there may be a little material that comes off after the first couple times of using the brakes, this is just the top layer and is meant to come off. If you have just installed the brake pads for the first time you may not want to do a super hilly route on that first ride with the brake pads. The top layer of the brake pad can stick to the rim and that will accelerate the wear of the brake pads for that ride. It's encouraged that after your first ride you wipe down both the brake pads and the rim with a rag and rubbing alcohol. This quick step will only take a few seconds to perform but will greatly prolong the life of the brake pads.
Excessive toeing in of these brake pads will also accelerate the wear. A lot of time has been spent ensuring that these brake pads will not squeal on your carbon rims. You should not have to toe in your brake pads on these as much as a traditional carbon brake pad. This will also help with longevity.
Graduated 2.5 OZ / 70 CC injector makes application of Tickled Pink or your sealant of choice, a simple process, with little to no waste of sealant. Dual threaded metal adapter fits both presta and schrader valve core. Use valve core remover (sold separately) before injecting sealant.
Shimano's Centerlock to 6-Bolt Disc Rotor Adapter is a pretty straightforward article. It slides onto the centerlock mount on your hub, leaving an interface to mount a six-bolt rotor. It includes a six-bolt washer, a lockring, and a circle clip to secure the conversion. A standard Shimano lockring tool is all you need to install it. It's a home mechanic's job, but note that each kit only adapts one centerlock hub, so you'll need two for an entire bike.

The Tripel hub with 102 teeth is designed for super quick engagement that is crucial for mountain bike riding (especially getting over rock gardens and such). However, with the modern 1X drivetrains found on most mountain bikes, there is a massive torque load placed on the rear wheel.
The Tripel freehub body has 6 pawls that all engage at the same time. With 3 tips on each pawl, you always have 18 points of contact to propel you forward. This handles the torque load of the 1X drivetrain and gives the super quick engagement to help you get over that rock garden.
Quick Swap Freehub Bodies with No Tools Required
Just like with our 85 and Quest hubs, the Tripel hubs can easily swap between Shimano Hyperglide, Sram XDR, and Shimano Microspline with no tools and no redish required. Note that the Tripel hub freehub bodies do not slide off as easy as the 85 and Quest hubs as the seals are better handled for the mud, dirt, and pressure washers that mountain bikes see.
The Tripel freehub body is for use ONLY with the Tripel MTB hub. It's not compatible with any other hub in the Boyd Cycling line up past or present. If your hub does not say Tripel on it, this will NOT work.
There is a steel spacer that goes on the axle between the hub shell and freehub bodies. This spacer is size specific to the freehub body. So if you are swapping between freehub bodies, you must swap the steep spacer as well. The Shimano Miscrospline also has a specific drive side end cap that must be used. The Shimano Miscrospline logo is laser etched on that end cap.
When installing the freehub body, make sure to twist the freehub body counter-clockwise so the pawls do not damage the rubber gasket.
