What is it?

While all companies have seemed to abandon rim brake options, we know just how many people love their current bikes. If you want to keep that bike you already have, but get a great upgrade over the wheels it came with, the Rouleur is an excellent budget friendly upgrade.

One of our long time favorites, the Rouleur is back as part of our Prologue Alloy Series.  A great upgrade over a heavy stock OEM wheel, the Rouleur offers a modern 19mm wide internal / 25mm wide external tubeless rim bed.

The Skyuka hub features 10 degree engagement, a centerlock design, and Abec 3 sealed cartridge bearings. The Skyuka rear hub is available in a Shimano Hyperglide and Sram XDR freehub body and requires no tools to swap between the different freehub body standards.

Built with Pillar TB2018 spokes and external brass nipples, the Rouleur is a great budget upgrade that can be used for everyday riding.

Designed to be worry free, durable, yet quite a bit lighter than what came on most bikes.

Skyuka Hubs

The Skyuka hubs have durability in mind. While this can add a few grams over the Quest hubs, the Skyuka hubs have unbeatable torque handling with 4 pawl engaging simultaneously on 36 teeth (which gives a quick 10 degrees of engagement).

About Skyuka Hubs

Rim Brake

It's more than just nostalgia. Yes, the #savetherimbrake crowd is ever present. Rim brake existed on bicycles for well over 100 years. There are millions of rim brake bikes still on the roads, enjoying the simplicity of not dealing with hydraulic hoses and rubbing/squealing disc rotors.

Standard spokes and nipples

Cycling is a sport that has us riding near people and in groups where the unexpected can occur. Many people have been burned by having a "proprietary" spoke. The Prologue wheels use standard J-Bend spokes and brass nipples. Accidentally got someone's skewer through your front wheel? Have it repaired at your bike shop right away!

Rouleur Rim Brake

It’s time to start something

The Rouleur Rim Brake is designed to be a budget friendly upgrade for your rim brake road bike. Designed to be worry free, durable, yet quite a bit lighter than what came on most bikes.

Why do i need it?

Chances are unless you spent multiple thousands of dollars on your bike, the wheels are lacking in quality. You’re not going to want to spend more on wheels than your bike, but you always want an upgrade. The Rouleur will be that upgrade that will have the most impact on your bike’s performance and one you’ll enjoy every day.

Handbuilt in Greenville, SC

Your wheels deserve the human touch. Our wheelbuilders put the same care into every wheelset that they would their own. Whether you are just riding for fun or winning a national championship, you deserve the confidence in knowing your wheels are built right.

The workhorse

In cycling, the term "Rouleur" is used for the rider who sits on the front of the pack all day doing the work. This is often done before the TV cameras turn on. The Rouleur will never be the superstars, but are the dependable, reliable riders that you can always count on.
