Stumphouse. In the Upstate of South Carolina a railroad tunnel project was abandoned after 1/4 of a mile discovering that trying to hand dig a tunnel through the tough rocks of the Appalachian Mountains is not a good idea.
However, at the Stumphouse Tunnel mountain bike trails and a new mountain bike park were built connecting to local towns and to State Parks. This was a very good idea.
The Stumphouse rim is a 30mm wide internal rim that is purposely overbuilt, adding durability to the type of riding that demands the most out of your equipment. At 600 grams (29er) the Stumphouse rim is not a frilly fragile rim you need to be scared to ride hard. Send it, rail it, and have your riding ability be the only thing you need to worry about.
A tubeless ready rim is available in 32 spoke count only. Two small stickers are on the rim, and can be removed should you desire a blank rim. At just $80 retail for the rim, having a budget set of wheels has never been easier.
The Stumphouse rim is available in both 29er and 27.5 diameters.
