Boyd Cycling stands behind every product we sell and we want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. Boyd Johnson personally tests every product during research and development, and it is only after the designs receive his final approval that they are released for production and sale to our customers. To offer our clients peace of mind, we are pleased to offer the following warranty and repair options on all our wheels:

Rebuild / Replacement Policy
Anybody who owns a Boyd Cycling wheelset, regardless of age, condition, or where they bought the wheels is eligible for our rebuild / replacement or trade-in program at a reduced price. Our goal is to always get the customer back up and riding again if some sort of damage occurs.
Most of the time in the occurrence of a crash, the rim is what needs to be replaced. For this we have a simple pricing structure as follows:
Carbon Rim Replacement - $300
Alloy Rim Replacement - $150
In the case of a hub failure on a wheel in which the rim is considered to be of acceptable condition for continued use, the replacement pricing for hubs is as follows:
Front Hub Replacement - $100
Rear Hub Replacement - $175
The replacement price includes new spokes, nipples, and labor to rebuild. Basically, it’s a new wheel using the existing hub or rim.
Shipping to Boyd Cycling and return shipping is not included.
Trade-Ins
In the case of both the rim and hub being deemed unsalvageable, we will offer our trade-in program where you can receive 20% off towards the purchase of a new wheel or wheelset.
There are a lot of wheelsets out there that are many years old, and are built with hubs or rims for which we no longer carry spares as our designs improve and move on. Rather than rebuilding onto a very old hub or rim and risk another repair in the future, we would recommend our trade-in program. The trade-in will get you a brand new wheel (or wheelset) so you can have the newest hub, spoke, and rim technology that we offer. We would recommend the trade-in for any wheels from 2017 or older. This will give you 20% off the new wheel purchase, and comes with a full warranty. We will also include a return shipping label to get the old wheel or wheelset back.
The replacement is available at any time for a wheel in any age, any condition, and for any reason. Whether it's a crash or you ran over the wheel with your car, we will get you back riding again for a very reduced price.
Carbon Wheel Warranty (2018 and Up)
Our wheels are built from a lifetime of cycling passion for a lifetime of riding enjoyment, so we offer a limited lifetime warranty with each carbon rim from 2018 to current. Yes, we said "lifetime" three times because we want you to know we really mean it.
Lifetime Warranty covers manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship when riding the wheels within the scope of their designated use and applies to original purchasers only.
Alloy Warranty
Boyd Cycling provides a 2 year (24 month) warranty on all alloy rims. If the purchaser discovers within this period a defect in materials or workmanship, please notify Boyd Cycling promptly so the matter can be corrected. Boyd Cycling reserves the right to provide replacement parts or products or, in the event that Boyd Cycling is unable to repair the product to conform to this limited warranty, we will – at our sole discretion – provide a replacement product.
Hub Warranty
All Boyd Cycling hubs are covered under warranty against defects and failures for 2 years (24 months) after original purchase date. This does not include wear or damage due to neglect / lack of maintenance nor bearing replacements.
Fine Print (Limitations)
This warranty does not apply to any defects caused by negligence, misuse, alteration, abuse, accidents, running it over with your car, your dog chewing the wheel, etc. We also do not cover damages resulting from improper shipment (other than first shipment at time of purchase), improper storage, use not consistent with the original intent for the product, neglected or poor maintenance, improper assembly, assembly with non-compatible products, normal wear and tear, or modifications to the original product.
Non-compatible products include, but are not limited to Yellow SwissStop Brake Pads (carbon rim brake only), tubeless valves w/ o-rings on the nut (carbon road wheels only) and boost conversion kits.
This warranty specifically excludes cosmetic imperfections affecting surface finishes or decals.
Warranty does not cover broken spokes or worn out bearings (with the exception of the Enduro XD-15 Ceramic bearings which carry a lifetime warranty through Enduro). While we ensure all builds are to the highest quality, there are many outside forces that can affect both of those. We also do not manufacture the spokes or bearings. We will gladly assist in getting you up and running if a spoke or bearing goes out on you, but these both fall under the “wear and tear” categories.
Limitation of Liability
The sole remedy for breach of the limited warranty set forth herein is Boyd Cycling repair / replacement as described herein. In no event shall Boyd Cycling be liable for any other damages or liability, including special, incidental or consequential damages based upon breach of warranty, breach of contract, negligence, strict tort, or any other legal theory, and including damages arising from or related to any physical injury to person or property. Some states do not allow the exclusion of incidental or consequential damages, so the above exception may not apply to you. This warranty, and statutory law, gives the consumer specific legal rights and those rights may vary from place to place. In the event of legal action, the sole proper venue for all claims or disputes under this warranty shall be contested in the courts of the State of South Carolina.
Return Policy
If you are not satisfied within 30 days, the wheelset can be returned to Boyd Cycling for a complete refund of the original purchase price minus original shipping charges. The customer is responsible for shipping back to Boyd Cycling. If the wheels are more than 30 days old, then the policy is to repair and replace the wheel should a problem arise. Refunds will not be given on wheel sets that have been ridden or used more than 30 days.
