There’s something reassuring about seeing an independent cycling publication validate what riders have already been feeling on the road.

Cyclist Magazine recently included the Boyd 32 Road Disc SL in its roundup of the Best Lightweight Road Bike Wheels of 2026 alongside brands like Zipp, Roval, Campagnolo, DT Swiss, Cadex, and Lightweight.

The 32 Road Disc SL was recognized for its claimed 1,130g weight, modern 24mm internal rim width, and all-road compatibility optimized around today’s wider 28-30mm tires.

Cyclist Magazine also highlighted Boyd’s high-pressure molding process, which helps achieve a high carbon-to-resin ratio while keeping rim weight incredibly low.

But one detail we especially appreciate being recognized is serviceability.

While many ultra-light wheelsets continue moving toward proprietary systems and difficult-to-service components, the Podium Carbon Disc SL uses conventional steel spokes and steel bearings. That means easier maintenance, long-term durability, and real-world rideability.

The goal with the 32 Road Disc SL was never to create a fragile “showpiece” climbing wheelset.

It was to build a wheelset that accelerates fast, climbs effortlessly, and still feels dependable ride after ride.

Being included in Cyclist Magazine’s list reinforces something we’ve believed from the beginning:

World-class lightweight performance doesn’t have to come with a $5,000 price tag.
