Built for the boards of Ghent and the Tarmac of Kona, 90’are for when every second counts. Our most aero of wheelsets even create negative drag pushing you forward in certain wind conditions. Slightly narrower than our other carbon wheels, our deepest section wheelset is optimized for narrower profile, aerodynamic tire combinations found in TT, Triathlons and Track Racing.
The 90mm clincher is an ideal wheel for events like time trial or triathlon where aerodynamics are most important. Ever do a time trial, go as hard as you could go, and lose to somebody by a few seconds? Now you can do something about that with our most aerodynamic wheel ever! Since the 90mm is such a deep wheel it can be susceptible to heavy crosswinds although the design of the rim shape really makes crosswind handling better than wheels much shallower. A 23mm tire will handle in crosswinds much better than a 25mm tire. For events like longer distance triathlons, pairing a rear 90mm with a front 60mm can be the perfect set up!The 90mm rim is 25mm wide, with a 17mm internal width. This is still a nice wide rim profile, but not quite as wide as some of the other carbons or alloys. The reason for this is to "pinch" the tire a little bit more for better head on aerodynamics. Also, chances are you are not running 28mm tires or larger gravel tires on the 90mm depth so we could optimize it for that 23/25mm tire set up.Rim depth - 90mm

TEXTURED BRAKE TRACK
Braking is not that important. . . until it is! One of the things people have fear in regards to carbon is the braking performance, especially in wet conditions. Carbon braking performance has always lagged behind aluminum in terms of pure stopping power. With the new brake track on these rims, featuring a slight textured surface, braking is better than ever. Feel confident that no matter what speed, terrain, or weather condition when you need to come to a stop you will.
HIGH TEMPERATURE RESINS
The resins on the new carbon wheels can take the mountains! Countless hours of testing and resin formulas have gone into making a rim that can be ridden in any terrain. . .with any carbon specific brake pad. Don't worry anymore about if you have the right brake pads for the wheels. Wheels have been testing in a lab environment on a dyno machine, and personally in the mountains of South Carolina on hot summer days. The real world testing of the resin capabilities comes in the form of slow speed descending on Greenville's Paris Mountain. On a 35C degree day, we are going to the very top of Paris Mountain and riding just the front brake the entire way down the mountain. It ends up taking about 7.5 minutes to get to the bottom, all while dragging the front brake. It's the true test of braking way beyond what anybody would do while riding. . . .and we do it again, and again.
